Coed y brenin MTB skills area - Y FWYNDRI
Design of the MTB skills area at Coed y Brenin, Snowdonia, North Wales. The contract required a full design service from concept development, options appraisal, consultation, through to a full design package including the successful management of the planning application. The work included the design of:
- Trail head gathering area 
- Access route from the visitor centre to the skills area entrance 
- Energy management area 
- Interpretation area 
- Green grade trail 
- Access route for future maintenance and upgrades 
- Blue, red and black exemplar sections 
- 2 Blue graded skills loops 
- 3 Red graded skills loops 
- 5 Black graded skills loops 
- Rock garden 
- Freeride track 
- Drop off zone 
- Viewing area 
- 7 Black graded sections 
- Equality Act compliant 
The contract included: consultation, producing the access statement, design stage design risk assessments and method statements and content for funding and planning applications, bills of quantity, CAD drawings, construction specifications and GIS mapping.
Part of the successful £1.7m Meirionnydd Centre of Excellence bid.
